This is generally known as- Wheat Allergy because wheat has the highest amount of the gluten. This disease is thought to be a result of two or three conditions – Autoimmune condition or Genetics.  But still the exact cause of celiac disease is unknown. The lining of the intestines are velvety to increase the surface area of the intestines these are called villi, this increased surface area helps to absorb nutrients. When people with celiac disease eat foods or use products that contain gluten, their immune system reacts by damaging these villi. This is thought that once a person is taking some of the foods with gluten some antibodies start offending the body but….due to lack of the proper knowledge about “friends and foes” and in this process defence line of the body starts harming itself. This is a complicated condition overall!

This damage affects the ability to absorb nutrients properly. A person becomes malnourished, no matter how much food he or she eats.

As per Ayurveda all the cells of the body have the capacity of working as well as of thinking! This process of thinking makes the cells special in their working as cells can decide the good and bad, but due to certain reasons this capacity of the cells will be hampered by our diet and lifestyle.

These cases of celiac disease are increasing day by day all around the world. Reason is very simple, we have changed our diet and lifestyle both to a very bad condition, which is dragging us to all these problems.

If we check with Ayurveda, there are two points which can easily help us to achieve the treatment of Celiac diseases alias Spur- these are-

  1. Nature of the Gluten: Reason is not clear till the date but it is very much clear that Ayurveda has recommended taking the wheat and other grains only after storing these for an year! Not sure how much scientific this is, but this is very true that once you take the newly cropped grains, this will bring some signs and symptoms like- Pain in stomach, diarrhoea which are similar to the signs of celiac disease. If we look at the scientific prospective of the same, one thing is clear that once we are storing something there will be certain changes in the grains because today we are well aware that nothing is inert in the world. So this should be remembered for always to use the old grains.
  2. Checking with Psychological of cells: As said above all cells have their own psychological values and we should take care of this aspect for always. Ayurveda has some medicines to tackle this condition.
