Ayurvedic Treatment for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
As per modern health sciences, managing Chronic fatigue syndrome can be as complex as the illness itself. There is no cure; no prescription drugs have been developed specifically for CFS. These factors complicate the treatment process and require patients and health care professionals to constantly monitor and frequently revise treatment strategies.
Identification of a CFS patient’s greatest problem is most important since the illness affects people differently. Relief of symptoms is the primary treatment goal. Expecting a CFS patient to feel "normal" (for example, a return to usual activities) should not be the immediate goal because trying to reach that goal may aggravate the illness. CFS is a complicated illness and therefore may require input from a variety of medical professionals.
In Ayurveda CFS is managed by improving digestion and eliminating toxins and allergies. Diet modification and cleansing programs are used to get rid of toxins. The quality of sleep should also be improved by working on psychosomatic elements; as sleeping is very important in health.
Before coming up with a remedy, it is important to decide the cause of the fatigue. Ayurveda suggests that fatigue can come from both physical and mental stress. Fatigue does not necessarily have to come from overwork. People can feel tired when they are not working hard. In this case fatigue has its genesis from boredom or lack of motivation.
If the fatigue is due to boredom and lack of physical effort, a walk or some physical work/ yoga are the best for you in order to get rid of fatigue and to increase your energy level. So the first thing to determine is whether the tiredness is due to too much physical work or too much idleness.
